The Minnesota Wild traded defenseman Calen Addison to the San Jose Sharks for prospect Adam Raska and a fifth-round draft pick in 2026, the team announced Wednesday.
Addison is under contract this season at a $825,000 cap hit before becoming a restricted free agent for the second consecutive year.
The 23-year-old has managed five assists in 12 games this season while averaging 16:48 per contest. Addison is likely to take on a bigger role for the last-place Sharks, and he showed he’s capable of creating offense with 29 points – including 18 on the power play – in 62 games in 2022-23.
The Wild acquired Addison, Alex Galchenyuk, and a first-round pick from the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2020 in a deal that sent forward Jason Zucker the other way.
Addison was selected 53rd overall by the Penguins in the 2018 draft.
