The Nordic Combined committee meeting took place in Zurich (SUI) on September 29th, 2023.
The results of the test events during Summer Grand Prix were presented and updates on the 3D measurement procedure were given.
In addition, the updated calendar drafts for the next season were presented.
Mixed Team Sprint and Individual Compact
As part of the Summer Grand Prix, the new formats confirmed at the Spring Meetings in Dubrovnik were tested.
Oberwiesenthal (GER) hosted the first Mixed Team Sprint without complications, so the winter premiere can take place at the COC in Eisenerz (AUT) as planned.
The Individual Compact, for which a Mini World Cup globe will be awarded next season, was successfully tested in Villach (AUT).
Since the feedback from the organizers and teams was equally positive, nothing stands in the way of the events’ World Cup premiere in Ruka (FIN).
The Centralized Digital Platform strategy from the FIS Media & Marketing department was presented, including the definition of target groups and content plans for reaching a larger audience in the future.
Equipment Control update
During the Summer Grand Prix, the new 3D body measurement scanner was successfully tested.
The new measurements are valid for the upcoming season and will become mandatory for all World Cup and Continental Cup competitions in the future.
A further optimized plan for the scanning procedure will be discussed at the Ski Jumping Committee Meeting in Klingenthal (GER) on October 9th.
