Madrigal suffered the injury as he attempted to beat out an infield single. He had to be helped off the field by trainers. Danny Mendick entered the game in Madrigal’s place.
He will be evaluated further on Thursday.
The 24-year-old had been one of Chicago’s hottest hitters this season, batting .305/.349/.425 while leading the club with 61 hits over 54 games.
