Will Power led practice Friday for the Chevrolet Dual at Detroit on Belle Isle, turning a top lap of 1 minute, 17.2768 seconds in the Verizon 5G Team Penske Chevrolet. 2014 NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Power’s best lap was his last of the 75-minute session on the 14-turn, 2.35-mile street circuit.
Four-time INDYCAR SERIES champion Sebastien Bourdais was second overall at 1:17.4291 in the No. 14 ROKiT/AJ Foyt Racing Chevrolet. Pato O’Ward led Chevrolet to a top-three sweep of the practice positions on home turf by ending up third at 1:17.5143 in the No. 5 Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet.
